FORT WARREN. American, Hornpipe. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. Fort Warren is situated on an island in the middle of Boston harbor, where it protected the shipping lanes for the port city from the time it was completed in 1850. It was named for the Revolutionary War hero Dr. Joseph Warren, a physician and officer who was killed in the Battle of Bunker Hill. During the American Civil War it was the site of a prison for Confederate prisoners.
