LIME LIGHT. American, "Stage Jig" (2/4 time). B Flat Major ('A' part) & F Major ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BAA'. A rag-time tinged, syncopated piece sometimes called a 'sand jig'. The term jig used in this context is in the sense of a solo dance rather than the 6/8 Irish jig, and was the late 18th century vehicle for a number of variety stage dancers.
