LORD DOWN [2]. Scottish, Strathspey. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. The second strain is in the mixolydian mode. While there is a "Lord Down" in the Irish peerage, the title of this strathspey refers to the Stewart Earls of Moray, with the title Lord Doune (pronounced 'down') going to each successive eldest son.
