French-Canadian, Reel (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The melody, a part of the core Québécois repertory, was first recorded by Montreal fiddler Willie/Willy Ringuette (1898-1969) of Trois-Rivières in 1927 as "Ronfluese Gobeil." Joseph-Oliva's La Madeleine's son, fiddler Albert La Madeleine, recorded the tune for Victor (Victor 263605) a year later, in 1929, under the title "Mon reel favori" (My Favorite Reel)[1], notes Jean Duval.
