CINCINNATI (LANCASHIRE) CLOG. American, Clog or Hornpipe. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The composition is credited to one Frank Livingston in Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883), about whom nothing is known. He contributed several compositions to William Bradbury's 1883 collection and may have been a journeyman song and tune writer. This melody may have been meant for the popular variety stage of the era as a vehicle for a showcase dance.
