In Ireland the tune is rendered as a polka under the names "Denis Doody's (2)," "Glen Cottage Polka (1) (The)," "Glen Cottage No. 2," "Green Cottage (2) (The)," "Glin Cottage Polka (1) (The)," "McAllister's Fling," "Quarry Cross Polka (The)," "St. Patrick was a Gentleman (2)" and "St. Patrick was Your Patron Saint." See also the related Irish reel "Tinker's Apron (The)," a cognate but distanced variant.
