FELIX. Irish, Air (6/8 time). D Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. "This air was a favourite theme; for I find in the Forde and Pigot Collections many tunes, altered indeed, but evidently modelled on it and with different names."
Oh, Felix, my honey,
I've value and money,
A snug and compact little farm;
Three acres of ground,
With a ditch all around,
To keep the potatoes from harm:
A headland of flax
Without tithe or tax;
Dark yarn that the fine frieze is made of;
Geese and turkeys galore,
And myself to the for;--
Now, Felix, what are you afraid of?
