BONNY LASS [4], THE. English, Country Dance (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The melody appears in the first edition [1] of the Second Volume of the Dancing Master (1710), printed in London by John Young, heir to the Playford publishing concerns. The same melody and title were retained in the second edition (1714), but in the third (1718) and fourth (and final, 1728) editions a new tune replaces it under the same title.
