DAVEY COME ON BACK AND ACT LIKE YOU OUGHT TO. American, Reel (cut time). A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. This archaic-sounding reel, using some melodic material from "Shady Grove (1)," was in the repertory of fiddler Delbert Hughes (1905-1989), who was born in Jellico, Tennessee, raised in Kentucky and settled in Ohley, West Virginia, where he worked as a coal miner. The second strain is 'crooked' (irregular meter), witn phrases of different lengths.
