DOOHAMLET CHURCH. Irish, Air. A composition of uilleann piper Pat McNulty, born in Glasgow to Irish parents, who dominated the All-Ireland championships in the 1960's (McNulty published Dance Music in Ireland in 1965). The tune celebrates the church in the village near CastleBlayney in County Monaghan where his maternal family was from (both his grandfather and great-grandfather were pipers). Uilleann and Highland piper Pat Ward was also from Doohamlet.
