FAUSAN'S MAGGOT. English, Country Dance Tune (2/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Fausan, Fossan or Fossano was the familiar name of the Italian master wikipedia:Antonio_Rinaldi_(choreographer) (c. 1715 – c. 1759) who was born in Naples, and by 1733 was working in Venice at San Samuele. In 1734, he moved to work in London, but returned to Italy in 1735, where he established an operatic dance troupe. The rest of his career was divided between Italy and Russia, and he retired in 1757 or 1759.
