GLASGOW GAELIC CLUB (Comunn Gaelach Ghlasco). Scottish, March (6/8 time). B Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Although he did not put his name to it, the march may have been written by piper, pipe teacher and pipe-maker William Gunn, or perhaps one of his friends. Not only did Gunn live and work in Glasgow, but all the tune titles in his 1848 volume of music for the bagpipe were in Gaelic as the primary title, with an alternate title in English translation. The tune was recorded on a 78 RPM by Scottish bandleader Jimmy Shand.
