GLENAVON FOREST. Scottish, Strathspey. G Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by Aberdeenshire fiddler-composer biography:Alexander Walker (1819-c. 1906). The Forest of Glenavon, Aberdeenshire, was a hunting preserve in the domain of the Duke of Richmond and Gordon in the 19th century. It lies in the Grampion Mountains between the upper reaches of the River Avon to the north and the peaks of Ben Avon to the south.
