HONEYMOON JIG (1) (THE). AKA - "Honey Moon (The)." English, Country Dance or Jig (6/8 time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABA. There are other published tunes with this title, but this one appears to be unique to the Thompson's 1788 London country dance collection. The tune was entered in the mid-19th century music manuscript of William Winter, a shoemaker and violin player who lived in West Bagborough in Somerset, southwest England.
