HONORABLE MISS ELPHINSTON'S STRATHSPEY. Scottish, Strathspey. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDD. The strathspey was composed by John Watlen, publisher of Celebrated Circus Tunes (Edinburgh, 1791), a title that references Edinburgh's Royal Circus, an extension of Phillip Astley's London-based Royal Circus.
