HUT ON STAFFIN ISLAND, THE. Scottish, Slow Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A modern composition by Scottish accordion great Phil Cunningham, set in the key of 'A', although in session use 'D' is more common. Staffin island lies off the north east coast of the Isle of Skye. Chris Stout wrote the tune "Hamnataing" to go with Cunningham's composition, but the two were never recorded together, according to Philip Whittaker.
