MARCHE DES RAQUETTEURS [2] (Snowshoers' March). AKA and see "Reel Arcène." French-Canadian, March (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABB'CB"B"'A'. Learned by Montreal button accordion player Philippe Bruneau from a 78 RPM recording of French-Canadian accordion great Alfred Montmarquette [Begin]. Hart & Sandell offer that Montmarquette actually recorded the tune twice in 1931. It differs from "Marche des Raquetteurs (1)" in that it has a different 'A' part, while the 'C' part is comparable to the 'A' part of Marche des Raquetteurs (1). The "Reel Arcène" alternate title comes from a recording by Jean-Marie Verret.
