MISS GORDON’S [2]. Canadian?, Scottish?; Reel. Canada, Cape Breton. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The tune is a traditional Cape Breton tune that apparently had been untitled until its inclusion in Brenda Stubbert’s Collection of Fiddle Tunes (1994) when editor Paul Cranford and Stubbert named it “Miss Gordon’s” due to its resemblance to William Marshall’s “Miss Gordon’s Strathspey—of Fochabers.”

Source for notated version: fiddler Brenda Stubbert (b. 1959, Point Aconi, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia) [Cranford].

Printed sources: Cranford (Brenda Stubbert’s Collection), 1994; No. 58, p. 21.

Recorded sources: Celestial Entertainment CECS001, Brenda Stubbert (Cape Breton) - “In Jig Time!” (1995).
