The person of the title may perhaps have been the Helen Renny who in 1802 married John Cowie Esq. at Montrose. Cowie was "late of Cawnpore in the East Indies. Helen was the daughter of Henry Rennie Esq. Archibald Duff also composed a tune for "Miss Margaret Renny," perhaps a sister.
