MISS McLEOD'S REEL [2]. American, Jig (12/8 time). USA, New York State. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. A very popular Irish jig, for which the title was substituted by source Les Weir (or his family) for that of an equally popular Irish/Scotch reel. The melody also appears in the 1840 music manuscript collection of Cumbrian musician John Rook under the title "New Strathspey (A)" set in 6/8 time.
