MISS SMYTH'S REEL [1]. AKA and see "Nelson's Pillar," "Naval Pillar (2) (The)." Irish, Reel (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Researcher Conor Ward finds the tune to be a version of "Nelson's Pillar." Fr. John Quinn found a precursor tune in Dublin publisher Maurice Hime's Hime's Collection of Favourite Country Dnaces for the Present Year (1795) under the title "Naval Pillar (2) (The)."
