PETER AND DOREEN CHIASSON. Cape Breton, Slow March (4/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning. AABB’. A modern composition by Cape Breton fiddler Brenda Stubbert (b. 1959, Point Aconi, Cape Breton). The title honors the long-time organizers of the Rollo Bay Fiddle Festival which had run for 39 years in 2015, the year of fiddler Peter Chaisson's death at age 72. The Chiasson's lived in Bear River, Prince Edward Island, and Peter played at weekly dances in the Lorne Valley school house. He composed "Joseph and Margaret Chaisson" in memory of his parents. See also Cape Breton fiddler Dan R. MacDonald's composition in his honor, "Peter Chiasson."
