Source for notated version: - Hartnett [O’Neill]. Sergeant Michael Hartnett, originally from northwest County Cork, was a Chicago policeman, a "silent and modest" neighbor of Capt. Francis O'Neill's in the city, and "an excellent dancer of the Munster school." His "mind was a storehouse of rare tunes," wrote O'Neill in Irish Folk Music (1910, p. 79).
