SILESIAN, THE. English, Waltz (3/4 time). D Major (‘A’ and ‘B’ parts) & G Major (‘C’ and ‘D’ parts). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDD. Silesia is a historical region of Central Europe located mostly in Poland, with small parts in the Czech Republic and Germany, located along the Oder River. There was a "Silesian Waltz" by Samuel Webbe (c. 1770-1843) published in London by Clementi & Co., c. 1820, which may or may not be the same tune.
