The tune appears in the large mid-19th century music manuscript collection of County Cork cleric and uilleann piper Canon biography:James Goodman. The first strain is shared with "Lodge Road (The)," a set dance printed by Francis O'Neill; the second strains differ. The first part is also very similar to that of "Miss Thompson's Hornpipe."
