ST. FRANCIS REEL. AKA – “Saint Francis Reel.” Canadian, Reel (whole time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune seems to be more associated with Ontario fiddler wikipedia:Graham_Townsend's playing than with wikipedia:Don_Messer's. Conjecturally, Messer perhaps learned the tune from Townsend who frequently played with the Messer band early in his career. It is marked "Traditional" in Messer's 1980 anthology.
