TERRY “CUZ” TEEHAN’S BARNDANCE [1]. AKA - "Frank Thornton," "Kerry Reel." AKA and see "Terry Teahan's Reel." Irish, Barn Dance or Fling (cut time). E Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB’. This fling or barn dance melody was composed by Terence "Cuz" Teahan in 1979. Teahan was born in Sliabh Luachra, County Kerry, where he was a student of peripatetic fiddle master Pádraig O'Keeffe (1887-1963). A one-row melodeon and concertina player, he later became a senior member of Chicago's Irish music and dance scene. The alternate title, "Frank Thornton's," honors a founding member of the Irish Musician's Association, Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann, in North America, flute player Frank Thorton (1908-1997), originally from County Kerry.
