This fling or barn dance melody was composed by Terence "Cuz" Teahan in 1979. Teahan was born in Sliabh Luachra, County Kerry, where he was a student of peripatetic fiddle master wikipedia:Pádraig O'Keeffe (1887-1963). A one-row melodeon and concertina player, he later became a senior member of Chicago's Irish music and dance scene. The alternate title, "Frank Thornton's," honors a founding member of the Irish Musician's Association, Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann, in North America, flute player Frank Thorton (1908-1997), originally from County Kerry.
