TURKISH JIGG. AKA and see "Quick Step -- Turkish." English, Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDD. The melody also appears in print in John Johnson’s 200 Favourite Country Dances, vol. 8 (London, 1758). Later in the century James Aird published it under the title "Quick Step -- Turkish". In America, the tune can be found in the c. 1770 commonplace book of fiddler Thomas Aborn.
