VALENTINE [1]. English, Morris Dance Tune (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABBB (x4), A. Collected from the Cotswold village of Ascot under Wychwood, Oxfordshire, England, prior to World War I. Unfortunately, the Ascot pre-war side did not survive the carnage of the war, including Reginald Tiddy, an Oxford University colleague of Cecil Sharp and a member of Sharp’s display team, who had moved to the village.
