VARGUS'S JIG. Irish, Jig. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Darley & McCall note that their source, a flutist and farm laborer named John Ferguson, was the only one in his district who remembered this tune and it began to be called after him ("Vargus being the local equivalent of Ferguson").
