VIGO [1]. English, Country Dance Tune (6/4 time). B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody first appears in Henry Playford's Dancing Master in thea12th edition of 1703, and it was retained in the long-running series through the 18th and final edition of 1728 (then printed by John Young, heir to the Playford publishing concerns). It also is contained in Walsh and Hare's The Compleat Country Dancing Master (1718), and in John Walsh's 1754 edition of the same volume.
