YORKSHIRE VOLUNTEERS. English, Country Dance Tune (2/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. The Yorkshire Volunteers is also said to have been the 90th Regiment of Foot, although there were other units that seem to have also been identified by that numerical designation. The Yorkshire Volunteers were said, by one account, to have been first raised in 1759 and were stationed in the West Indies during the American War of Independence.
