COW THE GOWANS. Scottish, Air. Williamson's version is from W. Christie's Traditional Ballad Airs, collected in the Buchan (eastern Scotland) from the singing of a blind beggar named Jamie. Christie substituted a poor song for Jamie words, which unfortunately were deemed unsuitable for the collection.
Recorded source: Flying Fish FF358, Robin Williamson - "Legacy of the Scottish Harpers, vol. 1."
