X:1 T:He Rambled N:From the playing of fiddler Lonnie Austin (1905-1997, Leaksville, North Carolina) with N:Charlie Poole and the North Carolina Ramblers. Austin was a keyboard, guitar and fiddle N:player who played in a longbow style and was a much sought after session fiddler for N.C. N:and Va. Piedmont string bands. In addition to playing with Poole, Austin also recorded with N:Kelly Harrell's Virginia String Band. He played with Poole for two years, and was replaced by N:Odell Smith. N:The intro to the song is the same as the 2nd strain (chorus) of the instrumental.
