The late Andy McGann (d. 2004) was a famous fiddler from New York City, a member of the great New York Ceili Band (along with Paddy Reynolds and Larry Redican) and heir to the legacy of the great Co. Sligo and New York City fiddler Michael Coleman, who died in the mid-1940's. McGann recorded the tune in a medley with "Old Grey Goose." Compare with "Road to the Glens." McGann told New York musician Don Meade that he had composed it playing on the black keys of a piano.
