DRUMBAIN'S REEL. Scottish, Reel. F major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by William Marshall (1748-1833). Drumbain was the name of a farm close to Rothes. Biographer Moyra Cowie (The Life and Times of William Marshall, 1999) suggests that it was a waystop for Marshall on his way to Elgin from his farm of Keithmore, as Marshall attended church in Elgin and the way was long.
