DRUNKEN MEG YOUNG. AKA - "Drunken Magg Young." Scottish, Country Dance Tune (6/8 time). The melody appears in the Bodleian Manuscript, in the Bodleian Library, Oxford. It is inscribed "A Collection of the Newest Country Dances Performed in Scotland written at Edinburgh by D.A. Young, W.M. 1740." A more elaborate version was set in 3/4 time by cellist-composer James Oswald as a slow air, and can be found in his Caledonian Pocket Companion Book XI (London, 1760, p. 26)
