GALOPE À EDDIE. French-Canadian, Galope. A galope from the repertoire of fiddler Eddie Whelan of Stoneham, Québec, and typical of regional Quebec City playing. The gallop was a 19th ballroom dance for couples, sometimes used as a section of a quadrille.
