GARDEN WELL, GLEN CALLATER. Scottish, Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The tune was composed by Kirkmichael, Perthshire, fiddler and composer biography:Robert Petrie, and was included in his Second Collection of Strathspey Reels and Country Dances, 1796. Glen Callater lies south of Braemar in Aberdeenshire, descending from the northern slopes of Tolmount near Angus. The Callater Burn is a stream in the glen that runs north where it empties into Clunie Water. Loch Callater lies within the glen.
