GAVIN GREIG. Scottish, Strathspey. D Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Composed by Aberdeen fiddler and composer J. Murdoch Henderson (1902-1972) in honor of Buchan schoolteacher, musician, poet and dramatist Gavin Greig [1] (1856-1914). He was also a prodigious researcher of ballad literature, collecting over 3,000 of them.
