GENERAL SHERIDAN'S REEL. American, Reel. D Minor ('A' part) & F Major ('B' part). Standard tuning (tuning). AABB. Refers to the famous Union general of the Civil War who later gained more 'glory' fighting Native American tribesmen in the West. Sheridan (1831-1888) is commemorated with a statue in Manhattan's Christopher Park. The composition is credited to journeyman composer of light music Harry Carleton in Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883).
