GEORGE SKENE DUFF, OF MILTON. Scottish, Reel. C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Composed by William Marshall (1748-1833) in honor of George Skene Duff (1814-1889), MP in Parliament for the Elgin District of Burghs *from 1847-1857), later Lord-Lieutenant of the County of Elgin (1856-1872). His estate was Milton, in Elgin Parish, Elginshire (there is a Miltonduff distillery nearby, producing a fine single-malt). He was a son of Sir Alexander Duff, and brother of James Duff, 5th Earl Fife.
