HAM HOUSE. AKA and see "Cherry Garden." English, Country Dance Tune (6/4 time). C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. This dance tune was published by John Playford in 1687 in the first supplement to the 7th edition of the Dancing Master (London). Ham House was the primary residence of Elizabeth Maitland, Duchess of Lauderdale, built in 1610. It survives today intact and is located near the River Thames in Ham, south of Richmond, London.
