HONORABLE MRS. DRUMMOND OF PERTH, THE. AKA - "Honorable Miss Drummond of Perth (2) (The)." Scottish, Strathspey. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. Composed by Perthshire fiddler-composer Biography:John Bowie. Mrs. Drummond was Clementina Elphinstone (1749-1822), daughter of Charles Elphinstone, 10th Lord Elphinstone. She married James Drummond in 1785, who was created Lord Perth in 1797. James died in 1800. They had two children, a son and daughter (another child, died in infancy), although the boy died at age seven. The surviving child, Clementina Sarah Drummond, matured into a patroness of the highest order and had several melodies dedicated to her or written in her honor (see "Miss Clementina Sarah Drummond of Perth," "Miss Sarah Drummond of Perth (1)").
