JACKSON'S CHICKENS. Irish, Reel. D Major (Eames, Kennedy): B Flat Major (Holden). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. The tune appears in Smollet Holden's Collection of Old-Established Irish Slow and Quick Tunes, vol. 1 (Dublin, 1805, p. 13). It was entered into the music manuscript book of musician M.E. Eames, frontispiece dated Aug. 22nd, 1859 (p. 8); nothing is known of the fiddler, save that he/she may have lived in Philadelphia (judging from the titles of some other tunes in the MS).
