Jenny Geddes [1] (c. 1600-1660) was the woman who is credited with igniting the riot that led to the Wars of the Three Kingdoms (which included the English Civil War), when she threw her stool at a minister who first used the Anglican Book of Common Prayer in Scotland. Scottish poet Robert Burns named his mare Jenny Geddes, and wrote amusingly about his faithful horse.
