MR. OSWALD'S BASS MINUET. Scottish, Minuet (3/4 time). G Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCD. The melody was printed by Scottish fiddler-composer James Oswald in his A Curious Collection of Scots Tunes (1739), presumably composed by Oswald himself. The composer later moved to London to work and publish. As "Oswald's Bass Minuet" it is also contained in the [James] Gillespie Manuscript of Perth (1768, p. 84).
