WISHAW'S DELIGHT. AKA and see "Ligrum Cush," "Marquis of Granby (The)," "Over the Water to Charlie," "Pot Stick," "Shambuie." Scottish, Jig (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The Gow family labelled the tune “Dancing Set. Or Wishaw’s Delight,” and include another setting right above it on the printed page, which appears as “Original Set of O'er the Water to Charlie.” Wishaw is a town in Lanarkshire, east-southeast of Glasgow. Frank Kidson (Groves) says the earliest version of the tune he found was in John Johnson’s Collection of 200 Country Dances, vol. iv (1748), under the title "Pot Stick" (see note for that tune).
