DUKE OF CORNWALL'S REEL. AKA and see "Opera Reel (1)." English, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDD. Well-known under the "Opera Reel (1)"
title. The tune appears as "Duke of Cornwall's Reel" in the William Aylemore manuscript of 1796 (W. Wittering, Sussex). There are some similarities in the first strain with the Scottish "Bonny Laddie Highland Fling" or "Katie Will Ye Marry?"
